Academic Scholarship

Andres Rojas

Andres holds himself to high standards on and off the field and rink. In addition to playing varsity lacrosse and hockey, as well as participating in travel teams for both sports, he excelled in a rigorous courseload of Honors and AP courses at BHS. A dedicated athlete and student, Andres acknowledges that to succeed in both requires a mix of teamwork and consistent individual effort.

While juggling varsity and travel athletics, Andres also found time to participate in several additional extracurricular activities. Clearly a fan of speed, he joined the Drone Racing Club and the Model Rocket Club, and is a member of both the National Honors Society and the National Chinese Honors Society. A committed mentor to young athletes, Andres accumulated more than 50 hours of volunteer service with Yellow Jacket Hockey, Barrington Youth Lacrosse, Barrington Giving Day, and BStrong Together.

Andres will be attending Iowa State University this fall to study Mechanical Engineering.

Leadership Scholarship

Robert Dunleavy

A four-year lacrosse player and 2023 varsity co-captain, Robert is regarded as a leader by his peers and coaches alike. He credits his success as a player and a team leader to four core skills: communication, accountability, individual effort, and a sense of urgency. “Communication is a vital part of any sports
team as well as the real-world workforce…You need to be accountable for your actions to make your
team, and you, the best you can be and allow the team to thrive.”

In addition to lacrosse, Robert played varsity football and is also a member of the Big Red, GreenDot, and Anglers clubs. He has volunteered for Barrington Youth Lacrosse, Barrington Children’s Charities, and the Village of Barrington.

Robert will attend The Farmer School of Business at Miami University of Ohio this fall.

Our 2023 season has started!

Varsity Head Coach Brian Niven is a former BHS lacrosse athlete who went on to play Division 1 Lacrosse with a successful career at Virginia Military Institute.
