BYL Volunteer Opportunties

Barrington Youth Lacrosse (BYL) Volunteer Opportunities

Barrington Boys Youth Lacrosse(BYL) will be needing BHS Boys Lacrosse Volunteers to help them throughout their 2019 Spring Season. BYL has been approved by Mrs. Horcher, BHS Student Volunteer Coordinator, as an eligible organization for volunteer credit at BHS.

Barrington Youth Lacrosse welcomes BHS Lacrosse student volunteers to assist and mentor boys in the BYL program ages 6 through 14 years of age. There are various volunteer opportunities that include, but not limited to, Friday and Sunday home league games, weekly practice sessions, and the annual BYL Recognition Night.  Each activity is held at one of our local Barrington parks or schools. Character building, sportsmanship, and learning lacrosse fundamentals are stressed throughout the season. BYL's main goal is to have all the players want to come back and play again next year.

The objectives for BYL volunteers are as follows:

  • Volunteers model good sportsmanship
  • Volunteers assist in demonstrating or explaining the fundamentals of the game of lacrosse
  • Volunteers encourage the value of team work and commitment
  • Volunteers and players have FUN

BYL Program Volunteer Requirements:
